Plans for the London Tube System

I have written a new article for "Modern Railways" on London Underground's deep tube programme, which will be published in the January 2013 issue of the magazine. It has up an to date description of future plans for those tube lines that have not been part of the existing upgrade programme.

Two things I noticed in the writing - one is that the TfL (Transport for London) press office are completely hopeless at getting any information for journalists or keeping deadlines. The other is that information is better got from informed sources inside most organisations, TfL included.

  1. Glad to have stumbled on a blog that takes a more realistic view of UK railway economics (than the sometimes shrill and partisan Christian Wolmar, in particular, or than the romantics at Modern Railways in general, the amusing Ian Walsmsley excepted). I hope you feel the inclination to keep it up.

One easy way to encourage higher readership would be to insert an RSS feed, so that you're not relying on people continually checking your website for updates, which just won't happen.

    Please keep it going.

  2. Thank you Roger for your kind remarks. An RSS feed sounds like a good idea. I'll see if I can set it up.

    1. I see you've done it and I've subscribed! May I suggest you draw attention to the RSS facility in your blog, so that readers are aware of it: it's easy not to be aware of it unless you're looking.
